Cylinders: 174HP 1.5L 4 Cylinder Engine
The Honda Civic, now starting it's tenth generation, looks to maintain it's position as one of the best-selling compact cars in the United States with more premium features, loads of safety tech and excellent fuel economy.
Available in sedan, coupe or hatchback bodystyles, with eight trims to choose from and three engine choices - a 158-hp, 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder, a 174-hp (180-hp available in hatch) 1.5-liter turbocharged, direct-injection inline-four or a 205-hp version of the 1.5-liter turbo in the Si. Non-Si trims can be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), the Si is six-speed manual only. Standard safety features on all Civics include electronic stability and traction control, four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, hill start assist, LED daytime running lights, six airbags, pre-tensioning front seatbelts and tire pressure monitoring. Available safety tech includes HondaLink emergency response system, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking, Honda LaneWatch, Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow. Standard tech features include Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Siri Eyes Free, steering wheel audio controls, automatic climate control, a rear camera and ECO-Assist technology on all trims. The top-of-the-line Touring trim adds LED headlights, LED turn signal mirrors, voice activated navigation, rain sensing wipers, heated rear seats and power driver and passenger seats.
For 2017, the hatchback bodystyle returns to North America for the first time since 2004 and for the first time ever as a five-door. Also, the high performance Si trim returns to the line-up. Last but not least, the Type R will make its return to North America as a 306-hp five-door hatchback later in the year.
