Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for working within the quality control team to provide timely and accurate process control information; ensure that all testing equipment is operating properly, perform pre-pour and post-pour checks, perform concrete testing and certify that completed products meet specifications. Shifts: 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. Requirements: Knowledge & experience in additive mixed designs of concrete. Minimum two (2) years experience working in the quality control/construction field. Experience working in the concrete industry is required. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification (certification must be obtained within one year of start date) or CCIL Concrete Certification (preferred). Class 5 Driver’s license and abstract required. Strong product and production knowledge; have an understanding of the chemistry of concrete and its ingredients. Able to interpret drawings and good mechanical aptitude. Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail. Maintains composure in dealing with difficult situations. Able to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Able to climb ladders, scaffolding and stockpiles. Able to work in an industrial environment that may include dust, heat, loud noise. Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.
